Performance Cockpit

Platform: Windows

A Windows performance and system-observability cockpit focused on hardware telemetry, gaming context, and practical system awareness.

A dark desktop tower with a violet-lit interior and fine cyan signal lines.

Engineering in the open

The public showcase documents the C# / .NET 8 and WinUI 3 application through curated source samples, a telemetry architecture and a dated verification record.

Source samples and tests document the engineering. The cinematic below is a Blender concept of the performance cockpit.

Public verification snapshot

The showcase records 201 passing C# tests at source revisiond677b1d998d3. This is a recorded snapshot, not a fresh test run or a gaming benchmark.

Cockpit concept

An 18-second Blender visualization of the performance cockpit, telemetry streams and future FRIDAY / DRS direction. It is not captured software or benchmark evidence.

Concept visualizationStatic on phones and with reduced motion; use Play/Pause on larger screens.

Two telemetry paths

Shared snapshots keep dashboard reads and background logging from independently polling the same hardware. Slower diagnostic and maintenance work runs outside the dashboard refresh path.

Fast path
Hardware / Windows providers → shared snapshot → dashboard and history logger → SQLite.
Slow path
Diagnostics / updates / maintenance → cached snapshot → dashboard summary.

CPU, GPU, RAM / VRAM, storage and network providers normalize available readings. Missing or unsupported measurements remain explicitly unavailable.

Designed for low overhead

Cache reuse, refresh serialization and foreground/readiness checks have test guardrails. Runtime cost still depends on hardware, drivers and workload; these tests do not establish a universal overhead ceiling or freedom from frame drops.

PresentMon, by choice

Benchmark sessions support manual start/stop and CSV import. Live capture depends on an available PresentMon adapter; readiness checks do not mean continuous FPS capture. Frame metrics are kept outside the dashboard hot path until explicit opt-in capture.

FRIDAY — SYSTEM INTELLIGENCE

A system-intelligence direction for observing state, detecting anomalies and recommending diagnostic actions. Remediation and verification remain safety-gated development work.

Autonomous remediation is not presented as released functionality.

DRS — PERFORMANCE MODE

Performance-mode foundations and readiness checks exist; the gaming workflow and UX are in development.

Any direct FPS benefit requires repeatable measurements for the specific configuration and workload. No automatic performance boost is claimed.
